Located on the Elk River, this living wall project demonstrates how a severe slope condition can be stabilized and planted to mitigate erosion. The slopes were stabilized with filter fabric tubes pumped with a customized soil mix designed for native plants that have an aggressive root system. This living wall system also filters runoff thereby improving water quality discharging into the river. Access and views to the water were greatly enhanced by a custom detailed wood stairway.  Annapolis Landscape Architects’ Partner, Shelley Rentsch, led the design of this project.
